Converted Adventures
The following adventures either have guides completed or are in process. Links are provided to allow for purchase of the adventures (in print or digitally).
Haystack, Oregon
- Adventure: Haystack, Oregon by Luke Gearing.
- System: Delta Green / Violence
- Conversion Notes by Goblin Archives.
- Synopsis: A Liminal Horror conversion for Haystack, Oregon by Luke Gearing. Upon the Pacific coast rests Haystack, a crumbling town of 687. Boats rust in the harbour, and trash accumulates in the streets. De-industrialisation and a failing fishing economy leaves most of the population retired or unemployed. The sea does not weep for them.
- General Conversion Notes: On a whole the adventure works as is for Liminal Horror. There should be a shift in framing (as addressed below) and a swapping out of Delta Green for The Bureau (see faction notes here). (Note: Replace all instances of Delta Green with The Bureau, including the green triangle for The Bureau’s Inverted Triangle & Eye)
Let Us In
- Adventure: Let Us In by Luka Rejec.
- System: System Neutral
- Conversion Notes by Goblin Archives.
- General Info: This conversion guide is meant to help facilitators run Let Us In using the Liminal Horror system. The adventure is written as such that it required minimal conversion. Facilitators will need a copy of Let Us In, as well as this conversion guide in order to successfully bring Luka’s 3-hour modern 70s horror thriller to the table.
Sag River Extreme Cold Research Facility, Alaska
- Adventure: Sag River Extreme Cold Research Facility, Alaska by Luke Gearing.
- System: Delta Green / Violence
- Conversion Notes by Goblin Archives.
- General Conversion Notes: On a whole the adventure works as is for Liminal Horror. There should be a shift in framing (as addressed below) and a swapping out of Delta Green for The Bureau (see faction notes here).
- Synopsis: A off the grid research lab is has gone dark.
The Dare
- Adventure: The Dare by Kevin Ross and Bret Kramer at Sentinel Hill Press.
- System: Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition
- Conversion Notes by Goblin Archives.
- Synopsis: Halloween night. A haunted house. Will you live to see the morning?
The Old Barnaker House. Every kid has heard about it. Everybody has a different awful story about it. All of them agree it is a very bad place. But here you are on Halloween Night, all because of that jerk Roger. He dared you and your friends to spend the night there. You couldn’t let him bully you. You will show him who is chicken! Everybody knows that there are no such things as ghosts... right? Get your slingshot and your pocket knife. Grab some candy and ready your Rubik’s Cube. You and your friends are going to go face-to-face with the horrors of the Barnaker House. Hopefully you will live to see the dawn.
The Isle
- Adventure: The Isle by Luke Gearing.
- System: The Vanilla Game
- Conversion Notes by Goblin Archives.
- General Conversion Notes: One of the main reframing of this adventure is to set it in modern times. The archaic nature of the Isle, and what lay beneath, can be kept the same. The monastery has not been updated since its construction, so keeping it low tech works perfectly. The biggest adjustment is giving the Investigators a reason to be on the island and delve deep below its surface. This framing is extremely important to making it work. Setting it so once they’re inside they need to push deeper to discover the way out will be helpful in the “why are they staying there.” The only way out is through kind of deal. The years established in the book may need to be added to (by decades or centuries) but you should be fine being fuzzy with those timelines. The Church’s occupancy of the island, and it’s ward, would have been around the 12th - 14th century.
